Blinken criticizes Nord Stream 2 during meeting with Merkel

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken urged German Chancellor Angela Merkel to take measures to "reduce the risks" that Nord Stream 2 allegedly poses to Ukraine and European energy security, according to the State Department's press service.

"Secretary Blinken underscored continued U.S. opposition to the Nord Stream 2 pipeline and encouraged Germany to take concrete steps to reduce the risks it poses to Ukraine and European energy security," the statement reads.

Earlier, Blinken said that the U.S. has no better friend in the world than Germany.
