Combine harvesters work in Budennovsky district for the first time
In the Budennovsky district of the Stavropol Territory, cotton harvesting has begun, the press service of the regional governor reports.
The message states that for the first time in Russia, this crop is harvested by combines. 31 hectares are sowed with cotton, the average crop yield exceeds 40 centners per hectare. In total, more than 130 tons of cotton can be collected in the fields of the district.
According to the region’s governor Vladimir Vladimirov, the authorities of the Stavropol Territory make cotton growing a strategic area of regional agriculture.
