David Bakradze heads Movement for Freedom - European Georgia
Today, a group of politicians, who broke away from Mikhail Saakashvili’s United National Movement, held a constituent congress of the Movement for Freedom - European Georgia party at the Tbilisi Sports Palace. About 10 thousand people participated in the congress.
A composition of the party leadership is noteworthy: all of them are the closest associates of Saakashvili. An ex-speaker of the parliament, David Bakradze, was elected as a chairman of the party, Giga Bokeria became a head of the political council, and a former major of Tbilisi, Gigi Ugulava, became a secretary general. The party will propose Alene Khoshtaria as a candidate for the mayor of Tbilisi.
