Davutoglu: It is impossible to defeat IS with Assad
Syrian President Bashar Assad should not be involved in the political process in Syria, Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu told a meeting at the UN General Assembly in New York.
"Terrorism has no justification, and it is necessary to fight it resolutely. Islamic State (IS) is a product of the Syrian crisis. But we will never succeed in combating this grouping until Assad is gone," TASS quoted him as saying.
Moreover, Davutoglu noted that Ankara is taking measures to ensure that the ranks of IS are not replenished by new fighters.
