Diyora Burkhokhujayeva: AGF and Baku audience create ideal tournament for gymnasts

The conditions provided by the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation and the support of the audience allow the gymnasts to not get distracted and resist only own mistakes during the Azerbaijani international gymnastics tournaments, Uzbek gymnast Diyora Burkhokhujayeva said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza after the qualification round with hoop and ball routines.

"I am pleased with my performance, especially since these are my first competitions of such a high level. Of course, everyone makes mistakes, no one is perfect, so I also made mistakes during my routine, but I will work on it," Diyora Burkhokhujayeva assured.

"It's my first time in Baku, and I really liked how they organize tournaments - the organization is at the highest level here, which is great, because it allows you to concentrate only on your own performance," the Uzbek gymnast noted.

She also stressed the importance of support provided by the Baku fans. "Everyone is supported here, both beginners, and famous gymnasts. In general, thanks to the conditions and such wonderful fans, I believe that in Baku every gymnast has the opportunity not to get distracted and resist herself in the first place," the athlete concluded.

The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup is being at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku on April 27-29.  Some 127 gymnasts from 26 countries are participating in the tournament. Depending on the results of the qualification, the winners of all-around and the participants of the finals in individual apparatus in both types of programs will be determined. Athletes will compete for 8 medal sets.
