EU to continue to stand by Georgia in its fight against COVID-19 pandemic
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, who is on a two-day visit to Brussels, has met with President of the European Council Charles Michel.
Zurabishvili has thanked the President of the European Council for the EU’s support to Georgia since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic noting that Georgia now seeks ‘that same solidarity’ to access the vaccines.
"We continue to stand by Georgia in its efforts to overcome #COVID19 pandemic and its consequences and to deepen reforms. Let’s further strengthen our partnership. EU’s support to Georgia’s territorial integrity is unwavering," Michel wrote on Twitter.
"The support we’ve received from the EU since the beginning of COVID proves that solidarity is the best way out of this global challenge. We seek that same solidarity now that the world has access to vaccines," Zurabishvili wrote on her Twitter page after the meeting.
