Early parliamentary elections in Turkey may be held on November 1
The Electoral Commission of Turkey has proposed holding early parliamentary elections on November 1, in the event of adoption of such a decision, Reuters reports referring to representatives of the Justice and Development Party.
It should be reminded that on August 17 the ruling Justice and Development Party failed to reach an agreement on forming a coalition with the Nationalist Movement Party, which was necessary to form a government. The next day, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu returned the mandate on the creation of a Cabinet of Ministers during a meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
If a government is not formed by August 23, the president will dismiss the administration of Davutoglu and will create an interim government until the next elections, which are scheduled for the autumn, RIA Novosti noted.
