Emir of Qatar agrees to hold OPEC summit
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has proposed the initiative to organize a summit of OPEC countries to stabilize the situation with oil prices. He made this proposal at a meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani.
Maduro explained that the Sheikh "liked this idea" so he promised to organize the required consultations. In addition, the head of Venezuela proposed that the event not only be attended by OPEC oil exporters.
Maduro noted that the minimum price for oil should amount to 70 dollars per barrel.
