Erdogan on Putin's position on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution, President Erdogan said at a meeting with journalists, Turkish media reported.
According to the Turkish leader, it would be useful for Russia to pay more attention to this issue.
"He [Vladimir Putin] believes this is possible, but, as far as I understand, he does not hold any particular hopes. Perhaps this is due to the relationship between the parties," Erdogan said. "I reminded him of the decision taken on the liberation of the five districts and the Armenian side was supposed to leave these territories".
Erdogan noted that the UN recognized the occupation of Azerbaijani territories, but despite this, the Armenian armed forces do not leave these areas. The President stressed that if these areas are liberated, the ancestral inhabitants of these regions can return to their native lands.
