Erdogan: we not to abandon Iranian gas due to U.S. sanctions
Turkey will continue to purchase Iran's natural gas, despite the U.S. sanctions on Tehran, Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in an interview to Reuters.
He said Turkey will continue to buy natural gas from Iran in line with its long-term supply contract despite Trump’s threats to punish countries doing business with Iran.
"We need to be realistic ... Am I supposed to let people freeze in winter? ...Nobody should be offended. How can I heat my people’s homes if we stop purchasing Iran’s natural gas?," Erdogan said while in New York attending the annual United Nations General Assembly meeting.
