Festival of Culture and Sport of Caucasus Peoples kicks off in North Ossetia
Festival of Culture and Sport of Caucasus Peoples begins today in North Ossetia, press service of the republic's government reported.
Holiday will be held with participation of representatives of all regions of the North Caucasus Federal District. According to preliminary data, 6 thousand guests will attend it.
According to Odes Bajsoeltanov, deputy chairman of the festival's organizing committee, festival is loved by residents of the North Caucasus Federal District, and more and more guests from other regions of Russia come here every year.
"Let's hope this tradition will be remembered and will continue for many years to come. I'm sure that North Ossetia, which will host the largest sport and cultural event of the North Caucasus for the first time, will successfully hold it. I wish luck to the participants of this festival and I hope guests will have a wonderful time!" he said.
Chairman of the North Ossetian government Taimuraz Tuskayev drew attention to the fact that this is the first large-scale festival for the republic in terms of its concept and content.
"Our republic is holding this festival in a new two-day format for the first time... For the first time there will be a clear economic aspect in terms of interaction between the North Caucasus regions... And our colleagues regard this festival as a serious starting point for promoting their products that have no analogues in Russia," he said.
"Of course, North Ossetia will also present its brands. We have a lot to show and to offer both to the interregional market and to Russia. We have promising and dynamically developing sectors," he stressed.
Festival will be held from September 30 to October 1.
The event is held with the support of the Ministry of North Caucasus Affairs, head of the republic Vyacheslav Bitarov and "Visit Caucasus" foundation.
