Euro 2016: France beats Iceland 5-2
France put an end to Iceland's Euro 2016 journey, running home 5-2 winners at the Stade de France yesterday.
Les Bleus raced into a two goal lead after 20 minutes with goals from Olivier Giroud and Paul Pogba. The hosts then added two more goals in quick succession through Dimitri Payet and Antoine Griezmann just before half time, killing off any chance of an Icelandic fightback.
Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and Birkir Bjarnason pulled goals back for Iceland in the second half but they couldn't repeat their last-16 heroics when they defeated England, the Daily Mail reports.
