Gang neutralized in Armenia planned to blow up president's plane
A criminal gang, which was neutralized by the National Security Service of Armenia (NSS) in the last month, planned to seize the country's public institutions and attack the president's plane, Interfax reports with reference to the Hraparak newspaper.
“The group has five sub-groups that were planning to seize the presidential residence, the government, the parliament, the Constitutional Court, and the TV tower. They intended to blow up the plane of the Armenian president who was to fly to France."
The newspaper noted that the operation was well-organized, but the gang leader Arthur Vardanyan made a mistake, he was spotted by the special services after a suspicious meeting,” the paper writes.
