Georgia continues its participation in NATO mission in Afghanistan
Georgia will continue to participate in the NATO Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan in the former composition - 870 servicemen, the head of the Georgian Defense Ministry Levan Izoria said.
The issue of reducing the Georgian peacekeeping contingent in Afghanistan is periodically raised by in the Georgian media, which is categorically refuted by the country's Ministry of Defense.
The head of the Georgian Defense Ministry said that special gratitude was expressed to Georgian officers, soldiers and the whole people at the Brussels meeting for the great contribution that Georgia makes to the security of the world, Sputnik Georgia reported.
The NATO Resolute Support mission has been held in Afghanistan since January 1, 2015. To date, it involves more than 13 thousand troops.
