Georgia not to impose new restrictions for businesses at this stage - minister

Georgia doesn't plan to impose new COVID-19 related restrictions for businesses at this stage, Georgia's Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava said.

She said the interagency council is trying not to impose additional regulations.

"One of the important decisions we made was to declare holidays and restrict the movement of public transport, which helped reduce mobility. At this stage, we are not imposing any major restrictions on the business, we are trying to get by without it," Turnava said.

Meanwhile, Georgian government declared May 4-11 as public holidays. As reported, the decision made by Interagency Coordination Council aims to reduce mobility and curb the COVID-19 spread.

Intra-city municipal transport is suspended until May 12. However, it does not apply to inter-city transport, Georgian media reported.
