Georgia takes measures to save Abkhazia from power cuts

The Georgian authorities have taken all the necessary measures to avert power outages in Abkhazia in connection with the reduction of the water level in a reservoir of the Inguri hydroelectric power station, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of the Republic Kakha Kaladze said.

"Increased power consumption was registered in Georgia and on the territory of Abkhazia. This year the matter of electricity supply to Abkhazia was extremely acute due to the small resource of water preventing the Inguri and Vardnili hydroelectric power stations from providing a sufficient amount of electric energy," Sputnik Georgia cites Kaladze.
