Gigi Ugulava to spend 4.5 years in jail
Ex-Mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava has been sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment after the case of Tbilservis and alienation of the square Rica, but due to the amnesty the term of imprisonment will be four years and six months. In addition, Ugulava will also be deprived of the right to work in public office for 6 months after his release.
The former mayor was convicted of embezzling 5 million laris. He wasn’t present at the proclamation of the sentence, so he couldn’t make a final statement, Georgia Online reports.
