'Going ahead' book presented in Israel on 95th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev

On the eve of the 95th anniversary of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, a festive event was held at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center of the international association Israel-Azerbaijan 'AzIz'.

Opening the event, the director of the center Yegane Salman told about Heydar Aliyev's personality, about the nationwide love for the leader of the Azerbaijani people, about great respect with which people of different nationalities living in Azerbaijan treated him, as well as how warmly the Jewish people who once lived in Azerbaijan think about their great compatriot.

The general director of the international association Israel-Azerbaijan 'AzIz', Lev Spivak, presented the book titled 'Going ahead,' which tells about Heydar Aliyev's life and work. It was published by the information-analytical agency Vestnik Kavkaza to the 90th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev. The book includes photographs, documents and memoirs of politicians from different countries about thier distinguished colleague. Among these memories, it includes a chapter written by Israeli President Shimon Peres.

Then Lev Spivak presented the book 'Going ahead' in Russian and English versions to the first vice mayor of Afula Mikhail Barkan, who worked as consul of the Israeli embassy in Azerbaijan. Mikhail Barkan noted that even in the most distant cities of Azerbaijan, people still talk about Heydar Aliyev with piety.

Lev Spivak also presented the book to the director of the Afula city library, Ilana Braslavskaya, who said that the book 'Going ahead' will be a worthy contribution to the library fund and would allow readers to know more about the Azerbaijani people and its immortal leader.

Then the documentary 'Charm of the Personality', shot by journalist Vladimir Sukhoy, which consists of memoirs of famous politicians, writers, artists, who were closely acquainted with Heydar Aliyev, was screened, the AzIz press service reported.
