Harutyunyan admits he appealed to Pashinyan to stop war
Armenian politician, the so-called "president" of the fake NKR regime in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, Arayik Harutyunyan once again reiterated that he applied to Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to exert efforts to stop the war.
"The decision was made taking into consideration the military situation as the commandership of the Armed Forces insisted on the necessity," Sputnik Armenia cited him as saying.
Harutyunyan said that the Armenian side had some serious issues in conditions of which the continuation of war would have resulted in larger human and territorial losses, including Khankendi's fall and blockade of other towns, villages as well as thousands of servicemen.
On November 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint statement on a complete ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Russian leader said the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides would remain on the positions they hold and Russian peacekeepers would be deployed to the region. Besides, Armenia and Azerbaijan should carry out the exchange of prisoners of war and the bodies of those killed. Aghdam region will be returned to Azerbaijan before November 20, Kelbajar region - before November 15, Lachin region - before December 1.
