Has Armenia changed its mind about learning from NATO?
Armenia's armed forces will not participate in a NATO 'Defender Europe 21' military exercise, the country's Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
"Despite the official clarification made earlier, in response to inquiries that continue to be received from the media, we reiterate that the RA Ministry of Defense does not envisage the participation of RA Armed Forces units in the Defender Europe 21 military exercise of NATO," News.am cited the statement as saying.
Earlier, it was reported on the United States Army Europe and Africa official homepage that Armenia's Armed Forces will take part in the large-scale U.S.-Army led DEFENDER-Europe 21 military exercises, which will be held in spring-summer. At the moment, Armenia is not listed among the participants in the exercises, their number has decreased from 27 to 26.
