ISIL claims responsibility for London attack - media
ISIS has claimed that the terrorist who launched Wednesday’s deadly attack at London parliament was a "soldier" of the terror group, Amaq reported.
Just two hours after British Prime Minister Theresa May told the Commons the killer was a British citizen who had been investigated by MI5 over violent extremism, ISIL said that the attacker answered "calls to target citizens of coalition nations". ISIL had vowed that the UK was its next target following the Paris attacks in 2015.
“What I can confirm is that the man was British-born and that some years ago he was once investigated by MI5 in relation to concerns about violent extremism,” May told lawmakers.
