Ilham Aliyev: let youth know that large part of Armenia is historical Azerbaijani lands
A large part of the territory of today’s Armenia is the historical Azerbaijani lands, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the nationwide festivities on the occasion of Novruz.
He stressed that there are numerous books, maps, confirming this. "On those maps, most of the toponyms in the territory of today’s Armenia are of Azerbaijani origin," Ilham Aliyev explained.
The president also said that historical books indicate that most of the population of the Irevan Khanate, more precisely 80%, were Azerbaijanis. "This is history, historical reality. Let those who unaware of this know about this. Most importantly, let the Azerbaijan youth know about this. Let them know that a large part of the territory of today’s Armenia is historical Azerbaijani lands. We have never forgotten and will not forget this," the head of state assured.
