Ilham Aliyev meets with US congressmen and US Secretary of Commerce
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev hold a meeting with a group of US congressmen in Washington. The sides noted successful development of Azerbaijani-US relations in politics, economy, energy, defense and security. In addition, it was stressed that US congressmen could contribute to the development of these ties.
Ilham Aliyev spoke of Azerbaijan's successful development over the recent years and responded to the congressmen's questions.
During the meeting, the sides had a broad exchange of views over the Southern Gas Corridor project.
Azerbaijani President also met with the US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker.
They discussed ongoing economic processes in Azerbaijan, measures taken to prevent and eliminate unemployment, the role of customs and tax reforms in developing the national economy, as well as prospects for cooperation in the field of agriculture and ways of expanding trade relations. The importance of the Southern Gas Corridor project was stressed at the meeting.
They also discussed the expansion of Azerbaijan-US energy cooperation and the activity of US companies in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
