Iran ready to hold electronic elections next year

Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said the country is fully prepared to hold all-electronic elections in the next Iranian year (March 2017- March 2018).

Rahmani Fazli pointed to the country’s plans for the upcoming polls, including presidential elections, saying that the Interior Ministry has informed the Guardian Council that it is ready to hold “all-electronic elections”.

Back in June 2015, the Iranian cabinet approved a plan to hold the February 26 parliamentary and the Assembly of Experts elections using electronic ballot boxes, the Tasnim news agency reports.
