Jihadists invade Europe
Interpol estimates that there are about 5000 jihadists in the EU, noting that a hundred of them are believed to be living in Brussels’ Molenbeek neighborhood. According to the Federal Criminal Police Office, about 420 people in Germany are under supervision, an expert of the Institute on Migration Policy, Olga Gulina, writes.
According to Gulina, intelligence agencies of only 5 out of 28 EU Member States provide each other with information on people suspected of international terrorism. This creates a major challenge in preventing such events as the Paris and Brussels terrorist attacks.
