Karasin: Moscow and Tehran interested in continuing dialogue
Russia and Iran discussed a number of bilateral projects in Tehran, as well as the situation in Syria and Ukraine, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said.
"A broad agenda was discussed and the focus was on the development of relations between our two countries with the states of the post-soviet space, starting with the Caucasus region, Central Asia, and the situation in Ukraine," he said.
The diplomat also said they held consultations on a number of bilateral projects, including the modernization of Iran’s railway systems.
Besides, Karasin pointed out that they have also discussed in detail Iran's relations with the EEU.
According to the deputy head of the Foreign Ministry, Moscow and Tehran are interested in the continuation of bilateral contacts, especially during international tensions.
"Interest was expressed that such consultations continued in the future, because it benefits both the Russian and the Iranian side," Karasin said.
“The comparison of positions and exchange of opinions are always useful, especially during international tension. We’ll continue this dialogue,” he stressed.
