Kazakh Air Forces receive new Russian helicopters

The Kazakh Air Forces have received new MI-171Sh combat-transport helicopters, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan said.

The official welcoming ceremony was held at the aviation base in Shymkent in the southern Kazakhstan. "The helicopters were delivered in accordance with the previously concluded contract between the Kazakh side and the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, which is a part of the Russian Helicopters Holding", RIA Novosti cited the agency as saying.

Mi-171Sh helicopter was developed from basic MI-8 airframe. It can be used in a wide range of conditions and temperatures from -50°C to +50°C.
