Kazakh weightlifter stripped of Olympic gold medals
Kazakh weightlifter Ilya Ilyin has been stripped of two Olympic gold medals by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) , the press service of the Kazakh National Olympic Committee said.
2008 Beijing Olympics and 2012 London Olympics doping re-tests came positive, the IOC said. Ilyin's men's 94kg weightlifting results shown at 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2012 London Olympics were annulled.
With Ilyin's losing gold, Iran's fifth place finisher Saeid Mohammadpour is in line to receive the gold medal. The silver medal should go to South Korea's eighth place finisher Kim Min-jae with ninth placed Pole Tomasz Zielinski in line for the bronze, AKIpress reports.
