Kerry and Zarif nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) has proposed Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif and the US Secretary of State John Kerry as candidates for the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize for their role in the historic agreement on Iran's nuclear program.

The nuclear accord calls for granting the 2016 Noble Peace Prize to John Kerry and Mohammad-Javad Zarif, the director of the Disarmament and Non-Proliferation Program at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Tariq Rauf, said.

The detailed agreement reached by Iran and the P5+1 is the most important multilateral nuclear deal in decades and can be compared with the 1996 Comprehensive Test-Ban Treaty," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.
