Lavrov comments on Trump’s INF remarks
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks about the possibility of signing a new agreement to replace the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.
The minister said that Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined Moscow's stance clearly.
"Concerning further negotiations on this or other issues related to strategic stability and arms control, there is no shortage of our initiatives on those issues, which we have handed over to our U.S., Western and NATO counterparts," TASS cited Russia's top diplomat as saying.
Lavrov added that, since no response followed, the Russian head of state issued instructions "to wait until our Western partners are ready to respond to the proposals."
