Main Russian New Year’s tree near Kremlin dismantled
The main New Year's tree near the Kremlin was dismantled, press secretary of the presidential administration Elena Krylova informed.
"The toys were removed, and the tree was dismantled. Then, it was taken out of the Kremlin's Cathedral Square," she told RIA Novosti.
The wood of the New Year's tree will be used as souvenirs, it is an established tradition.
The 96-year-old Christmas tree was cut down in December in Naro-Fominsk, Moscow Region.
