Majority of Americans oppose Trump travel ban - poll
More than half of voters oppose the US President Donald Trump’s temporary ban on travelers from seven Muslim-majority nations, according to a Quinnipiac University survey.
70% reject Trump’s indefinite halt on Syrian refugees, while 26% like the move and 4% are not sure.
Quinnipiac found opposition to Trump’s 120-day pause on general refugee admissions into the US is even less popular. 60% oppose that measure, while 37% support it and 3% remain uncertain.
51% reject the controversial 90-day freeze, 46% support Trump’s restrictions on travelers from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen, while 3% are uncertain.
"Any negative polls are fake news, just like the CNN, ABC, NBC polls in the election. Sorry, people want border security and extreme vetting," Trump wrote on his Twitter page, commenting the poll results.
