Manturov: Russia and Iran may start using national currencies for mutual operations
Russia and Iran can start to use their national currencies for mutual operations, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, said today.
"We do not rule out the possibilities of using the ruble-rial, based on the fact that the volume of trade will continue to grow, and accordingly the Russian ruble will appear in Iranian banks. They will be able to pay for our products," RIA Novosti cites the words of Manturov.
It is expected that within five years the trade turnover between the two countries could reach $5 billion.
