Mexico approves emergency use of Russia's coronavirus vaccine
Mexican health regulator COFEPRIS has approved emergency use of Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine, Mexican Deputy Health Minister Hugo Lopez-Gatell said.
Lopez-Gatell, Mexico’s coronavirus czar, was speaking at a regular evening news conference.
Earlier, Lopez-Gatell said Mexico’s contract provided for 7.4 million doses between February and April, with more due in May. "This gives us an enormous opportunity to accelerate vaccination in Mexico," Reuters cited him as saying.
