Mikhail Shirvindt: Azerbaijani cuisine is of highest quality

Azerbaijani cuisine is of highest quality attainable in culinary art, Mikhail Shirvindt, famous Russian TV hist, siad in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.

"Azerbaijani cuisine, of course, should absolutely be included in the UNESCO heritage list. Because it's of absolutely highest quality. And Baku tomatoes should be included in the Guinness Book of World Records, nothing will ever take their place," he said.

Mikhail Shirvindt said that he did a number of editions of the "Edible-Inedible" blog in Baku. "These shows were well received by the audience, they had a lot of views. Azerbaijani cuisine and culture of Azerbaijani markets are like contemporary art, to which we don't have constant access, unfortunately," he noted.

"After those shows I spoke to Azerbaijani colleagues more often, we even went to exhibitions in the wonderful Heydar Aliyev Center, universally recognized masterpiece of architecture. Overall, I would like to add that people of Baku are wonderful," he said.

In addition, Mikhail Shirvindt shared his impression of mud volcanoes near Gobustan. “Absolutely wonderful mud volcanoes. It's fantastic how they spill out of the earth. You have to go there and see them with your own eyes,” he concluded.
