Moscow becomes best city in Russia on import substitution
Moscow topped the rating of Russian regions in terms of import substitution, prepared by 'Medialogia' company. Besides Moscow, the Krasnodar Territory, Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk and Moscow regions also came top.
The creators of ranking have explained the leading position of the capital is due to the introduction and implementation of the anti-crisis plan for 2015, which envisages, above all else, food security provision.
"It is important that there was no shortage of any type of product. This was the consequence of the policy conducted by the city on expanding the number of suppliers, including increasing the participation of Russian producers in food supplies to Moscow," TASS quotes vice-mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina, who commented on the results of this research, as saying.
