Movses Hakobyan reveals military secrets about Armenia's defeat
Five days after the start of Azerbaijan's counter-offensive operation, already 1,500 servicemen in the ranks of the Armenian Armed Forces were deserted, former head of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, former head of the control service of the Defense Ministry, Colonel-General Movses Hakobyan said.
"Those who wanted to desert were blocked by us in Karabakh, so as not to be able to return to Armenia and not create panic," Hakobyan said.
Following over a month of military action to liberate its territories from Armenian occupation, Azerbaijan has pushed Armenia to sign the surrender document. A joint statement on the matter was made by the Azerbaijani president, Armenia's PM, and the president of Russia.
He also said that one of the tasks of Information Center of Armed Forces is to confuse the enemy by spreading misinformation. "There is a criteria though that the lie must not exceed the 30% of the truth. In our case it exceeded 100%, the 100% lie is not perceived by anyone," Hakobyan stressed.
On November 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint statement on a complete ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Russian leader said the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides would remain on the positions they hold and Russian peacekeepers would be deployed to the region. Besides, Armenia and Azerbaijan should carry out the exchange of prisoners of war and the bodies of those killed. Aghdam region will be returned to Azerbaijan before November 20, Kelbajar region - before November 15, Lachin region - before December 1. Later, Baku gave Yerevan postponement for troops withdrawal from Kelbajar until November 25.
