NATO and Armenia creating trust fund
The situation on the line of contact of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict needs to be stabilized, the German Ambassador to Armenia Bernhard Matthias Kiesler said within the framework of NATO Week in Yerevan.
Speaking about the most recent escalation of tension in the conflict zone and its potential impact on the Armenian and Azerbaijani FMs’ talk at the forthcoming Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Ministerial Council meeting in Hamburg, the ambassador noted that Germany has not changed its position on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
Kiesler said that the situation on the line of contact needs to be stabilized and the ceasefire must be restored. The diplomat added that Germany welcomes any ideas and suggestions, which will contribute to the stabilization of this situation.
"We are also working to create a Armenia-NATO trust fund. This is a very important project because it will help Armenia to fulfill its obligations," Kiesler concluded.
