NATO chief says Turkey was major part of fight against ISIS
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said on Saturday Turkey was a major part of the fight against the Islamic State (ISIS), Ahval reported citing German daily Bild am Sonntag.
"Especially in the fight against ISIS, Turkey made a decisive contribution to the physical destruction of the so-called caliphate," Stoltenberg said in an interview with Bild am Sonntag.
"In addition, no other ally has taken in as many Syrian refugees as Turkey - a total of 3.6 million. And no other NATO partner has experienced as many terrorist attacks as Turkey," he said.
