NATO stands for peaceful resolution of conflicts in South Caucasus
Azerbaijan is an important strategic partner for NATO, the Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Dan Iancu said at a round table in Baku, dedicated to the regional security challenges in the Caspian and Black Sea regions.
He also said that the Romanian Embassy in Baku has done a great job of spreading the values and principles of NATO.
Ambassador of Hungary to Azerbaijan Imre Laszloczki noted that it is a privilege for Hungary to become a NATO contact office in Baku and it is a great achievement in the foreign policy of Hungary. "Azerbaijan is an important strategic partner in ensuring energy security of Europe," Trend cited him as saying.
NATO Alliance Liaison Officer in the South Caucasus William Lahue drew attention to the fact that for five years as a contact office of NATO, Romania has done important work on the expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO.
In addition, he noted that the region has a lot of possibilities. "Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey have huge potential for transit. These transport capabilities will connect Asia with Europe in the future," Lahyu said, adding that NATO will continue to support the peaceful resolution of conflicts in the South Caucasus.
