Nadezhda Seile: Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku to be step forward

The judge of the international category Nadezhda Seile, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, said that the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku, which will start tomorrow, will be remembered for the innovative approach to the performances of gymnasts in the arena.

"The competitions will be held on the podium, shells are new in accordance with the standards. For the first time in the history of the World Cups there will be a highlight for a gymnast and apparatus, where the athlete's performance will take place. It had never happened before and will be tested in Baku for the first time. The future of this method will depend on its success at the current competitions, whether it will be adopted in other countries," Nadezhda Seile said.

According to her, new lighting is being tested both by trainers and athletes. "Currently, there are training sessions, and we are checking whether it is safe, whether the athletes feel comfortable, ask their opinions." It seems to me that such a light focus on a gymnast is exciting and very entertaining, for gymnastics it will be a step forward in terms of management. Now we will be able to see gymnasts and their apparatus - and it's beautiful when our attention is focused on a performance," the international judge stressed.

The FIG Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus World Cup will be held in Baku on March 16-19. Athletes from 23 countries will compete for 10 medal sets.
