Nicole Kidman's former stunt double shot dead after attempt to ambush her ex-husband
Nicole Kidman’s former stunt double, Cheryl Sanders, has been shot and killed along with her husband in a shootout with her ex-husband and his new wife.
Cheryl, 59, and Robert Reed Sanders, 56, died after attempting to ‘ambush’ Lindsey Duncan and his wife Molly outside their Ohio home, according to reports.
"All of a sudden, hell began," Lindsey told a press conference, adding that he and his wife were victims of an "absolute, total ambush" as they returned home in their car after a morning shopping trip.
Lindsey confessed to shooting dead his ex-wife and her husband, authorities say, however, the case is currently listed as justifiable homicide and he has not been charged, according to the Dayton Daily News.
Lindsey described how a man in "a full camo mask and hoodie" approached his wife’s side of their car and held his gun just inches from her head.
Lindsey opened fire and killed the man, later identified as Robert by local County Sheriff Gene Fischer. Cheryl arrived soon after and began firing her own weapon but was also killed by Lindsey.
"We were caught off-guard. They said nothing and they started shooting at us," Molly said.
Cheryl - who also performed stunts for Sandra Bullock, Cameron Diaz and Jessica Alba - shared two university-aged daughters with Lindsey.
Sheriff Fischer also revealed that five years earlier Lindsey had said he believed his ex-wife was trying to hire someone to kill him.
