Polad Bulbul oglu: Azerbaijani people to make the right choice
The Azerbaijani people will make the right choice in today's presidential election, Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbul oglu said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza before casting his vote at the polling station in Moscow.
"In the life of every state, every people, the election of a president, the election of a leader is a very important event which determines the development of the country in the coming years. The election that is held in Azerbaijan today was well prepared and widely covered. There are many observers in the republic, including from Russia. Three polling stations have been opened in Russia: at the Embassy of Azerbaijan Republic in Moscow, at consulates general in St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg," the ambassador said in the first place.
"According to the data as of 10 am Moscow time, our citizens present in Russia vote very actively. I am confident that the Azerbaijani people will make the right choice. Azerbaijan's successes over the past few years have been evident, and I am sure that the republic will remain on the right track in the future," Polad Bulbuloglu said.
"There are relations of strategic partnership between Russia and Azerbaijan, which are developing every day and every year, our trade turnover is growing. Whatever the political situation around our countries is, we remain neighbors, friends and will always support each other. I wish all our citizens who are in Russia to fulfill their civic duty so that Azerbaijan achieves new successes," the diplomat concluded.
Eight candidates were registered at the presidential election. Six candidates of them were nominated from political parties - Ilham Aliyev from the New Azerbaijan Party, Gudrat Hasanguliyev from the Whole Azerbaijani Popular Front Party, Araz Alizade from the Social Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, Faraj Guliyev from the National Revival Movement Party, Razi Nurullayev from the Frontists Initiative Group, Hafiz Hajiyev from the Modern Musavat Party, one was a self-nominee - Zahid Oruj - and one candidate was nominated from the Initiative Group - Sardar Mammadov from the Azerbaijan Democratic Party.
