Prometheus Cave in Georgia re-opens for tourists

Minister of Environment Protection and Natural Resources of Georgia, Gigla Agulashvili, said that the entrance to the Prometheus Cave, located on the west of Georgia and blocked due to a heavy rain, is opened to tourists again.

The main entrance to the cave was blocked with the rain streams tonight. The tourist trail was covered with sand and the railings were damaged. The cave’s lighting was turned off.

"Precipitation damaged several  railings. The water level has risen on the area, where the boats are floating. The repair works have been already carried out, the cave of Prometheus accepts visitors,’’ Sputnik Georgia quotes the minister as saying.
