Putin arrives in Johannesburg for 10th BRICS summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in South Africa. The presidential plane landed in the country’s main airport, named after South African politician and former President of the African National Congress Oliver Tambo, which is located not far from the city of Johannesburg.

On July 26-27, Putin will take part in the events of the 10th BRICS summit, scheduled to take place in Johannesburg’s Sandton Convention Center. Today, BRICS leaders will also participate in private and expanded meetings and sign documents.

On the same day, the Russian head of state is scheduled to hold talks with the summit’s host, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, as well as bilateral meetings with the leaders of Argentina, Angola, Turkey, Zambia, China and India, TASS reported.

On Friday, two sessions will take place, which will involve leaders of non-BRICS countries, invited to the summit.
