Putin: Russia can't be blamed for refugee problem
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia cannot be blamed for the current refugee problem.
He noted that people are fleeing Syria because of military activity that to a large degree is being fuelled by deliveries of arms and other special equipment from abroad. “People are running from the horrors of terrorists. We see attempts to cast the blame on Russia for the refugee problem. They can't do it,” Gazeta.ru cited Putin as saying.
According to Putin, if Russia didn’t support Syria, then the situation in that country would have been even worse than in Libya and the flow of refugees would have been even greater.
