Russia’s oldest woman passes away in Chechnya
Russia’s oldest woman, Koka Istambulova, who was born in 1889, has died in the North Caucasian republic of Chechnya, her grandson Ilyas Abubakarov said.
"Basically, she was in good health, having only some blood pressure problems. But suddenly she felt sick, complaining of breathing problems. We called a doctor who gave her an injection but she did not recover," TASS cited her grandson as saying.
The woman had a passport carrying only the year of her birth. The date and month of birth were not indicated. But Russia’s Pension Fund confirmed that Russian oldest woman was living in the Chechen Republic.
