Russia, Turkey and Iran confirm their participation in Astana meeting
Kazakh Foreign Ministry confirmed participation of Russia, Turkey and Iran in the next Astana meeting, aimed at settling the Syrian crisis, the Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov said on Monday.
"We have received an official message from the Russian Federation saying that a special representative of the Russian president and a special representative of the foreign minister will participate, besides, deputy foreign ministers from Turkey and Iran are scheduled to take part in the meeting. We are awaiting confirmations from the other parties to the meeting," TASS cited Abdrakhmanov as saying.
Earlier, Abdrakhmanov said that UN Security Council has praised the peacemaking potential of the Astana process.
