Russia and Turkey suspend Turkish Stream
Russia and Turkey have suspended talks on construction of the gas pipeline Turkish Stream. The reasons for the suspension of the negotiating process are delays in the formation of the Turkish government after the June elections, the Deputy Assistant to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Sefa Sadik Aytekin, said in an interview with the Hurriyet newspaper.
"We cannot get to move forward in the negotiation process. Russia marked the negotiations on a discount on gas between Gazprom and Botas companies as a compromise between the Russian Federation and Turkey. Because of failed attempts to form Turkish government after the June elections, negotiations between the two countries were only suspended, but not over," Aytekin stressed, TASS reports.
