Russia reports 4,676 new COVID-19 cases

The number of COVID-19 cases in Russia grew by 4,676 in the past day to 970,865, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Wednesday.

According to the crisis center, in the past eleven days the daily growth rate did not exceed 0.5%.

Some new 640 cases were recorded in Moscow, 181 in St. Petersburg, 143 in the Moscow Region, 130 in the Rostov Region and 129 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The lowest daily growth rate was registered in Moscow, the Moscow Region, the Smolensk Region, the Omsk Region, the Chechen Republic and Sevastopol (0.2%), as well as in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region, the Kamchatka Region, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Region, the Komi Republic, Kabardino-Balkaria, the Bryansk, Tambov and Lipetsk Regions (0.3%).

Currently, some 168,032 people are undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in Russia TASS reported.

The number of COVID-19 fatalities in Russia over the past 24 hours increased by 115, pushing the total to 16,683.
